The Kirchhoff family lives and farms south of Clarksburg, CA, on the Sacramento River Delta. The fertile soils and warm days of the Clarksburg Appellation allow for strong vine growth, with the Delta breeze allowing the vines to cool down and rest at night. The result is nothing short of excellence.
Growing grapes is more than an occupation in our family. It is a passion which drives us day in and day out to produce the highest quality grapes achievable.
When it comes to our grape growing process, our approach is “hands on”. Led by Craig Kirchhoff, our estate grown vineyards are hand tended by all members of the Kirchhoff family. By following sustainable practices such as dry farming and not using pesticides, we are making it possible for future generations to come. Harvesting is also done by hand, offering a selection process which leaves only the best fruit for the bottle.
And when it comes to winemaking, our approach is “hands off”. Under the direction of Winemaker Clayton Kirchhoff, there are no added sugars to the wine, and using spontaneous fermentation practices means no foreign yeasts are added either. Just grapes, love, and a little sweat and tears!
We truly hope you enjoy the wine as much as we love making it. CHEERS!
